In this article you will learn: how Bolt helps protect your account and what you can do to keep your information secure.
We take the security of your account and personal information seriously. Bolt uses secure sign-in, restricted account-change processes, security notifications and trusted payment providers to help prevent unauthorized access.
Signing in to your account
Sign in to the Bolt Customer Portal using your email address and password. Your account information and settings are only available after you have signed in.
Choose a strong password that you do not use for another account. Do not share your password with anyone—including Bolt Support.
What if I forget my password?
Select Forgot password on the Customer Portal sign-in page and follow the instructions to reset it securely.
Bolt Support will never ask you to provide your password or a verification code. If someone asks you for either, do not share it.
Making account changes
Account changes must be completed by signing in to the Customer Portal. They cannot be requested over the phone or through chat.
This includes changes to your:
- Internet plan or add-ons
- Payment method
- Contact information
- Password
- Communication preferences
- Service cancellation
Bolt will send you an email when a change is made to your account. If you receive a notification about a change you do not recognize, contact Bolt Support immediately.
Authorized account users
You may authorize additional people to access your account. Authorized users can view account information and make account changes.
Only provide access to people you trust. Each authorized user should use their own login information and must keep it secure.
Protecting your account
To help keep your account secure:
- Use a strong, unique password
- Do not share your login information
- Do not remain signed in on a public or shared device
- Keep your email account secure
- Keep your Wi-Fi network name and password private
- Change your password immediately if you believe someone else may know it
- Review account-change emails and report anything you do not recognize
Protecting your payment information
Bolt uses Stripe to securely manage payment information. Your full card details are not stored in the Bolt Customer Portal.
When you add or update a payment method, you may be directed to Stripe’s secure payment portal to complete the change.
What should I do if I think my account has been compromised?
Contact Bolt Support immediately at 1-888-270-2658 if:
- You notice an account change you did not make
- You receive an unexpected password-reset or account-change email
- You believe someone else has accessed your account
- Your email, password or other login information has been compromised
- You see a payment or invoice you do not recognize
After verifying your identity, Bolt Support can take emergency action to protect your account. This may include resetting your credentials, temporarily restricting access or making other necessary security changes.
