Understanding your bill

In this article you will learn: how to read your Bolt invoice, understand your charges and find important billing information.

Bolt services are billed monthly in advance. This means your invoice covers the upcoming month of internet service.

You can view and download your current and past invoices by signing in to your Bolt Customer Portal.

At the top of your invoice, you will find:
  • Invoice number: The unique number assigned to the invoice

  • Invoice date: The date the invoice was created
  • Billed to: The name of the account holder

Amount due
The Amount due section shows:
  • Your total balance
  • Your payment due date
  • The payment method that will be charged
  • Whether AutoPay is enabled

If AutoPay is enabled, your payment method will be charged automatically on the date shown and no action is required.

You can review or update your payment method through the Customer Portal.

Charges this period

This section provides an itemized list of the charges included on your invoice.

These may include:
  • Your monthly internet plan
  • Included equipment
  • Add-ons
  • One-time charges
  • Prorated charges
  • Credits, refunds or other adjustments

Each item shows the quantity, rate and total amount charged.

Why is my Wi-Fi equipment listed at $0?

Bolt-provided Wi-Fi equipment is included with your plan without a monthly rental fee. It may still appear on your invoice so you have a complete record of the equipment associated with your service.

What are prorated charges and credits?

A prorated amount may appear when a change takes effect partway through a billing period.

For example, you may receive:
  • A charge or credit after changing plans
  • A credit for the unused portion of a prepaid month after cancelling
  • A refund or account adjustment
  • An approved credit related to a service interruption

These amounts will be itemized under One-time charges, credits and adjustments.

Account summary
The Account summary shows how your balance was calculated:
  • Previous balance: The amount shown on your last invoice
  • Payment received: Payments applied since your last invoice
  • Credits and adjustments: Refunds or other changes applied to your account
  • Current charges: New charges for this billing period
  • Balance due: The amount currently owing

Your previous balance may still appear even if it was paid. The payment will appear directly below it as a subtraction from your balance.

Subtotal, taxes and total due

The subtotal is the total of your charges before tax.

Applicable taxes are calculated using your service address and listed separately. The Total due is the final amount, including taxes, that will be charged or must be paid.
