What to do during an internet outage

In this article you will learn: how to check for a known Bolt outage, follow service updates and report an unlisted issue.

Bolt monitors individual connections and wider building or network incidents. When an issue affects your service, we may send an email when the problem is detected and another when service has been restored. You can also check the Status section of your Customer Portal for available updates.

Steps
  1. 1
Sign in to your Bolt Customer Portal or check the Network Status page on the Bolt website.
  2. 2
    Open the Status section.
  3. 3
Review the current service status, known outages, planned maintenance and any recommended next steps.
  4. 4
If an outage is listed, leave your equipment powered on and follow the posted updates.
  5. 5
If no outage is listed, check whether the issue affects more than one device.
  6. 6
Confirm that your equipment has power and that its cables are secure.
  7. 7
Restart your router and test the connection again.
  8. 8
If the issue continues, report it to Bolt Support.

When reporting an outage, include your service address, when the issue began, whether all devices are affected and what lights appear on your equipment.

If Bolt reports that service has been restored but your connection has not returned, restart your router once and contact Bolt Support if the issue continues.
